Gas Detectors

Gas detectors are vital when working in the oil and gas industry. The gas detectors that we bring help in detecting the toxic gases that might accidentally flood the work-environment.Our gas detectors detect the most common toxic gases encountered in the oil and gas industry, including H2S, SO2, CO, CO2 and CH4. When operating in toxic gas environments, gas detection equipment is a necessary precaution. Gas detectors should be worn by all crew members on-board an installation, since it will give the worker a warning when a toxic gas occurs. This warning will be given even at low concentration, enabling the worker to put on protection equipment or leave the area, before the gas concentration reaches a dangerous or even deadly level. The gas detectors can be divided in 4 different types:
  • Fixed Gas Detection cable or wireless
  • Area Gas Detection
  • Portable Multi-gas Detectors
  • Portable Single-gas Detectors

Training to be prepared

Maersk H2S Safety Services offers an H2S Basic Course, H2S Awareness eLearning and a Confined Space Course, designed to meet industry standards.

Our expertise and know-how within the field of H2S contingency services enable us to provide high-grade courses within H2S and confined space entry. Our training instructors are highly skilled professionals with ‘real world’ experience and our courses consist of both classroom theory and practical exercises. For onshore training, we make use of our advanced H2S training gallery, which exposes participants to stressful conditions, both physically and mentally.

H2S Basic Course

H2S, or Hydrogen Sulphide, constitutes a serious danger to human lives. Working in an environment exposed to the risk of the poisonous gas H2S, requires constant awareness. Our H2S course is especially designed to provide participants with key competencies in identifying and managing H2S hazards in the workplace.

Through a combination of classroom theory and practical exercises, our participants will gain the necessary knowledge in order to behave correctly in a H2S environment.

The substance of our H2S Basic Course has been approved by DNV and complies with Executive Order No. 833 from the Danish Ministry of Employment.

H2S Awareness eLearning

Our H2S Awareness eLearning is designed to provide participants with key competencies in identifying and managing H2S hazards. The participants will gain the necessary knowledge of how they should behave in an H2S environment.

The content of our H2S Awareness eLearning has been approved by DNV and complies with Executive Order No. 833 from the Danish Ministry of Employment.

Confined Space Course

When entering confined spaces you might enter a hazardous environment and the necessary precautions must be taken. Before entering confined spaces you need training in how to protect yourself and others.

Through a combination of classroom theory and practical exercises, our participants will gain the necessary knowledge in order to behave correctly when entering a confined space. At our Confined Space Course, you will be introduced to the essential facts of the dangers to be considered when entering a confined space, as well as learn the life-saving measures to be taken.
